About Us

The Traveler's Garden is a small market garden located in Apex, NC, growing Fruits and vegetables through sustainable and intensive practices.

The garden started in the 1960s, when Jason's Grandfather decided he wanted a vegetable garden. He gardened there until 1980. After that, it lay fallow until Jason and Veronika, husband and wife, began gardening in the very same spot in 2011. Jason has been interested in growing vegetables since High School, where he was a member of the FFA (Future Farmers of America). Later on, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from NC State University. Veronika grew up with a large vegetable garden, where her family grew all kinds of vegetables year-round. Both of them share a passion for growing, cooking, and eating high-quality ingredients.

Why name it "The Traveler's Garden"? Veronika is Hungarian she travels back to visit her family with Jason. They love to explore other European countries. During those travels, they are always looking for varieties to grow and techniques they can use. This is why you will find that we grow European and American Heirlooms.

Practices

They also follow a French intensive gardening plan, permaculture, and organic practices. Their passion is to grow and share the best and freshest vegetables with friends and family. Now they are excited to let you know that their passion has grown to the point where they can share these fresh, beautiful, local, and super nutritious vegetables with you.
